The NBA schedule rolls on Thursday night with a three-game slate, and there’s no shortage of intriguing betting opportunities on the board. From a potential NBA Finals preview in Oklahoma City to a road favorite that has quietly been one of the most profitable teams in the league, there are multiple spots where historical betting trends and current roster situations align.
Using data directly from the TrendsCenter App, I’ve identified three systems that have produced solid results against the spread. Whether it’s teams bouncing back after tough losses, road favorites continuing to cash tickets, or a broader situational system that has consistently delivered value, Thursday’s slate presents several angles worth considering.
Let’s dive into the best NBA bets for March 12.
Celtics +6.5 at Thunder (-110, DraftKings Sportsbook)
Since 2023, the Celtics have gone 25-7 ATS (78.13%, +17.3u, 49.15% ROI) following a loss by seven or more points. (Boston lost to the Spurs by nine points on Tuesday.)
Could this be a preview of the NBA Finals? Perhaps. After missing last game, Payton Pritchard will be back for Boston, which is huge for Boston’s second unit in particular now that he’s coming off the bench with Jayson Tatum back. Note that Nikola Vucevic is out for the Celtics and both Tatum and Derrick White are listed as questionable, but I expect the latter two to suit up in what could be a statement game. Jalen Williams, Isaiah Hartenstein, Nikola Topic, Thomas Sorber and Branden Carlson are all out for OKC.
As seen by the trend above, Joe Mazzulla and his coaching staff have responded very well after losing by seven-plus points over the last couple seasons. Coming off a disappointing loss to the Spurs last time out, expect Jaylen Brown (who got ejected against San Antonio) to come out firing in an effort to redeem himself.
Despite not having Tatum for the entire season except for the last three games, Boston ranks 2nd in Offensive Rating and 2nd in Net Rating with a 43-22 overall record, which is astounding. OKC has an NBA-best Defensive Rating and Net Rating and stand at 51-15 despite major injuries of their own, but this contest should have a playoff feel as the league’s last two champions collide. I’ll take Boston +6.5.

Suns -8.5 at Pacers (-110, FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Suns have gone 10-2 ATS (83.33%, +7.8u, 59.09% ROI) as road favorites this season.
Phoenix has been a money printer as a road favorite this season, as seen in the trend above. Even without Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams, who are both listed out, and potentially Grayson Allen and Jordan Goodwin, who are listed as questionable, they hold a clear advantage over the Pacers, who are going to be without a slew of rotational players. Tyrese Haliburton and Johnny Furphy are both out, Pascal Siakam and Quenton Jackson are questionable and the following players are questionable: Ivica Zubac, T.J. McConnell, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith, Ethan Thompson, Jalen Slawson and Taelon Peter.
At 15-50, the Pacers rank 27th in Net Rating in what has been a throwaway year while Phoenix is 38-27 and outperforming expectations, as their 3rd-best 60% cover rate indicates. This Suns team has been especially gritty on the road and I’m comfortable grabbing them at -8.5.
We’re excited to announce a new partnership between TrendsCenter and Betr. Bucks +5.5 at Heat (+100, ProphetX)
Over the last two seasons, a team that lost their last game at home with more than a day of rest has gone 138-103-5 ATS (57.26%, +24.7u, 9.13% ROI) with a spread less than seven and over 224.
Both Kevin Porter Jr. and Bobby Portis are questionable for Milwaukee, but the Heat have massive concerns of their own in the health department, as Andrew Wiggins, Norman Powell and Nikola Jovic are out while Tyler Herro and Kel’el Ware are questionable.
Milwaukee has won eight of their last nine games against the Heat outright with Giannis Antetokounmpo playing and the Greek Freak recently returned to action in what should be a stylistic match for what he does best: run in transition. Miami plays at the fastest pace in the Association and averages the most transition opportunities and points in the league, so if they dictate the tempo, Giannis could be in store for a huge game individually on the break.
Especially after Bam Adebayo’s (unethical?) 83-point outing last time out against the Wizards, I can’t wait to back the road dogs in this spot, since he will draw the defense of Antetokounmpo, Myles Turner and others. The system above has a hit rate of 57.26% and I’m going to tail it.
